NEENA KUMARI
I
was stranded in India when my husband with whom I lived
in UK for four years deceived me. He lured me to go on a
holiday to India with him but on route, he damaged my passport
and left me at Bahrain Airport. I managed somehow to reach
India with a view to applying to British High Commission,
a Returning Resident Visa on a new passport. My husband
made false allegations against me to the British High Commission
and no decision was taken for 10 months by the Entry Clearance
Officers in my case. My misery was exaggerated when my husband
served on me a divorce petition from UK. In these circumstances
when I was not able to go to UK to defend the divorce proceedings,
I wrote to many influential people including Member of Parliament
in UK as well as to the Home Office. Unfortunately all of
this did not yield any favourable results. One of my well
wishers contacted Mr. Chadha, an Immigration Lawyer of UK
Immigration Consultancy (P) Ltd. who arranged for the necessary
documentation to prove my status in UK and presented the
same to British High Commission who agreed to issue a Returning
Resident Visa to me. I am grateful to all the staff of UK
Immigration Consultancy (P) Ltd. who were sensitive to the
plight of a poor woman stranded in India. |
