Davinder Singh & Jagir Kaur

I
went to the UK on the basis of voucher scheme in 1963.
In the year 1977, Jagir Kaur and I got married. After
staying for around one year in India, I went back to UK.
In the year 1980, I again came back to India and this
year my wife also accompanied me to UK and gave birth
to our son, Parminder Singh in the UK. My wife was granted
leave to remain for indefinite period in the UK. In the
year 1982, my wife came back with me to India and since
then she stayed in India to look after my parents. I kept
on shuttling between UK and India but my wife stayed back
due to ill-health of my parents in law and brought up
our son and daughter in India only and did not visit UK
at all for 24 years. Most of the time I stayed in India
with my family and looked after agriculture land for their
survival. Since I had been in India most of the time,
hence arose the third party support for the maintenance
and accommodation of my wife when she applied for her
permanent stay in the UK. This was offered by my husband's
younger brother in the UK. Our complicated case became
successful only with the efforts of Mr. Vivek Chadha,
immigration lawyer of UK Immigration Consultancy Ltd.
who handled the case in UK and India by preparing the
necessary documentation and provided my wife and me with
skilled counselling. Mr. Vivek Chadha personally represented
my wife at the British High Commission and she was granted
settlement visa to join him in UK.
